Soda-City Experimental Workshop Arts Association
Formed in 2005, a group of art lovers who shared ambitions and their visions of lives carried out creative works and performances collaboratively. In November 2010 the group was officially registered as a non-profit association in Macao aiming at promoting multidimensional artistic and cultural activities, interdisciplinary and multimedia exchanges and collaborations. Developing in various manners, the group is keen to provide more spaces and prospects for artistic creation, enhancing Macao’s cultural and artistic ecology.
Since 2005, the association has been creating works that express concerns on the development of the city landscape. Major works include dance theatre: Type M Syndrome (programme of 2005 Macao Fringe Festival), Memory – Multimedia Concert (programme of Macao Fringe Festival, 2010) and Memory Blueprint (Macao Cultural Centre commissioned work, 2011); OFF |SITE – Site-specific Performance Project (2013 and 2014 edition). Dance videos bridging dialogue of the uniqueness of the city environment and historical values are shot. Through the works, not only do the artists express their concerns and visions for the city development of Macao, but they also hope to raise public awareness on the relationship between man, nature and the urban development.
